Scanning the specific UPC code at the point-of-sale and getting the right price on the right item, every time, and posting that sale to the correct sales department is where it all begins. As merchandise is sold it is reduced from the on-hand inventory count. Store Chek then provides the tools to replenish inventory through the generation of an automated vendor purchase order program based upon par values established by you. To assist you with stock receiving we have automated that function as well. You are now able to receive entire purchase orders by exception. This means that you only need to address variances to the pre-existing purchase order and not receive each item individually, substantially reducing inventory maintenance time. |
Where purchase orders are not practical, as with your direct store delivery (DSD) vendors, a portable data collection unit will receive the merchandise and down load the receipt to your inventory. This same hand-held unit is used for spot-checking inventory during the month, virtually eliminating the need for any outside inventory service you may subscribe to currently. Take physical inventories yourself as the month progresses. When this is done in regular and frequent intervals, there should no longer be surprises at month-end or year-end. Variance reports show your discrepancies between what you just counted and what you're supposed to have on hand. You can now identify these variances by specific UPC item, and take appropriate action.
